Dr. Philip Gibson has served as an instructor at Gwinnett Technical College (GTC) for the past 20 years; he currently serves as Co-Chair of GBTI and the Bioscience Program Director at GTC, where he administers career counseling and facilitates job placement. During his time at GTC, Dr. Gibson has taught courses in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Lab Safety, Instrumental Methods of Analysis, Biochemistry, and Laboratory Methods. Many of his previous research findings have led to numerous scientific publications; he has written and published several textbooks and a novel. Dr. Gibson was named the 2007 Educator of the Year by the Georgia Green Industry Association.

Julie Klare

Julie Klare has been the Bioscience Coordinator at Gwinnett Technical College (GTC) since 2007. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from Smith College before attending Rutgers University as a graduate student and research assistant. Later, Ms. Klare worked as a Naval Officer in the U.S. Navy Drug Screening Lab in Jacksonville, Florida before joining the staff at GTC. Since being named Bioscience Coordinator, Ms. Klare has completely revamped the introductory Chemistry class, which is seen as the gateway to Bioscience. She brings energy and excellence to a program that is dedicated to bringing people into the life science field.
