The GBTI programs focus on critical thinking and laboratory skills. Students will spend a lot of time in biotechnology laboratories. Laboratory projects in class will require you to design and perform experiments you will encounter in real world laboratory settings. In addition to program-specific courses, you will take regular college classes like Math, English, and Psychology.

Ultimately, you will learn to think like a scientist. You will develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, and become experienced in working with others in teams. Because you'll be spending a lot of time in the lab, you will gain a great deal of skill in actually doing what employers are looking for – being able to skillfully perform scientific procedures used in the biotechnology workplace. GBTI also offers students the opportunity to perform internships with biotechnology companies in the area, so that you can find out even more about the field and facilitate your entry into it upon graduation.
